Not only do we tend to rewrite our memories according to the narratives we believe in at the moment, we are also easily influenced by word choices e.g. using the phrase ‘a car that zoomed past’ versus ‘a car that drove past’ can cause us to believe different things.
Memory is less so a recording or a catalogue, but more like vapour.
Mastery of language enables one to influence the sea of consciousness (starting with your own) and consciousness is the base layer of reality, which means the more you can shape it, the more you can enact magick (which is simply sculpting reality to your will) and the only reality-sculpting worthy of a human life is an egoless pursuit of the ultimate romance – that of tickling the divine.
