This is the answer. Use any fleeting motivation to construct the habit. Do not rely on “feeling like it”. Once you’ve created the habit, it will feel uncomfortable not exercising.

Psychopharmacology, Modafinil is a slow acting long lasting weak dopamine reuptake inhibitor, so it’s non addictive and you can try it and see how it affects you as a diagnostic and if it works you take it as a treatment. What you are describing sounds exactly like symptoms of ADD, basically executive functioning issues (the lack of ability to make yourself start tasks, yet desperately wanting to get things done and stressing about not being able to start).

In ADHD, lack of focus stems from understimulation. That means it's actually counterproductive to ban all external stimuli: By boxing yourself in, you're forcing yourself to become even more understimulated.
