I lol’d thinking about all the times I’ve fallen into this trap. As a pastor, people do this to me all the time when they find out I’m a christian: they immediately share the most relevant spiritual thing they can think of. I graciously connect but a better follow up would be a curiosity, even if that risks being “taboo.”
