The idea of time-limited monopolistic deals for companies operating on/with/in public infrastructure is interesting. How could this be applied today—with trash, electricity, internet, street cleaning, security forces, package delivery, etc?
Idea: self-insure after owning so many units; put into co-op structure that gives back to owners—anyone who pays a premium—when there are excess profits; give back in a form of a credit
