Reminders for myself

the old playbook:

if you want to be a vc, get into a top firm.

or raise a fund.

if you want to be a founder, launch a startup.

or write a whitepaper.

or send some cold emails.

then hope people believe you’re legit after.

here’s the new one:

write something that hits.

build an audience that cares.

prove you understand the moment.

then capital calls you.

the new game is to aggregate belief before you aggregate capital.

build attention before you build anything else.

My annual planning process naturally evolved to be a lot less about what I wanted to do or achieve , and much more about how I wanted to be .

New habit to form is to read 20 pages a day and think for 10 minutes. Goal is to reach after a few months 50 pages a day and 25 minutes of thinking per day (walking and thinking).

being interesting isn’t something you perform.

it’s something you earn.

you earn it by becoming.

by having convictions that cost you something.

by building skills that make your hands shake.

by developing taste.. not just what’s “cool,” but what’s yours.

by forming a worldview that filters light differently than anyone else’s.
