Many companies avoid talking about competitors because they don’t want to be seen as bad-mouthing the competition, which only makes them look bad.
To attack a rival is never good advertising. Don’t point out others’ faults. It is not permitted in the best mediums. It is never good policy. The selfish purpose is apparent. It looks unfair, not sporty.
Simply put, you should never make a negative comment about your V/I counterpart to anyone in the organization—ever.

Don’t badmouth: Assign responsibility, never blame. Say nothing behind another’s back you’d be unwilling to say, in exactly the same tone and language, to his face.
