From Richard Feynman’s 1974 commencement address at CalTech. It’s pretty amazing how relevant this still is, perhaps even more so!

I continue to find immense inspiration in Nick Cave's wisdom, compassion and, of course, his art. His words are so precise and never cease to conjure emotion and introspection.

We're all going to die and Luxury Economy & New Luxury
A big thing I have changed my mind about over the last few years is the importance of efficiency. I hate that I was such a sucker. I bought in. I joined the cult. I do still get triggered by stupidity disguised as inefficient processes, I’ve stopped looking at the world through a lens of efficiency. Being slow, having time to think, having your own thoughts, disconnecting, not being tethered to a device – these are luxuries.
I will preface this by saying that I know what the phrase "fuck around and find out" means. I was experimenting with Claude and hilarity ensued. I literally laughed out loud.
I mean OF COURSE Laurie Anderson created a GPT of Lou Read. I love her discussion of it. I’m also aware that many (most?) would struggle with technology explicitly intended to “speak” to dead people. My guess is that, similar to pornography, people will dabble in private and speak very little, if anything, of it.
Personality testing is a booming business; inevitably, there's a business to build on top of the results. Classifying things, or in this case, people is a step in a series that ultimately leads to the creation of personalized products, services, supplements, etc., based on determined personality.
I'll cop to taking several of them over the years. I find that Enneagram feels the most accurate, though not without some things that are simply inaccurate.
