The coping strategies that you adopt will determine how well you handle the stressor.

According to Lazarus and Folkman, there are two aspects to managing a stressful situation:

• Problem-based coping: the practical steps that you take to manage the problem.


• Emotion-based coping: how you manage your emotions when you become stressed.

This sort of collapsed, derelict condition can appear around any disintegrating dimension of being.

Willfulness can create all sorts of personal suffering because, at the end of the day, we don’t have control over all sorts of things, and certainly not over other people. Some walls are meant to be broken down or scaled, but others are clear signals to attempt a different tact.
