This is attention to detail. Care in design. Follow through in customer service. This is an embrace of elegance and wabisabi and the opposite of laziness. This is bringing care (which is rare and precious) to work even if most people would look for a shortcut instead.

Lesson #1: Earn the right to build the next thingCommit to following through on what you’ve already planned or launched before you chase the next creative, experimental, or shiny idea. “Earn the right to build” and “have respect for sequencing” are principles I’ve internalized.
People will react much more violently to technologies that replace specific jobs, as opposed to technologies that allow for new kinds of work or production.
