The prestige ladder you’re climbing might be well-constructed, widely respected, and extremely tall. But if it’s leaning against someone else’s wall, if it’s taking you toward someone else’s definition of success, it’s still the wrong ladder. Don’t optimize for someone else’s view of the summit.
