Reminders for myself

Being human is not hard because you're doing it wrong, it's hard because you're doing it right. You will never change the fact that being human is hard, so you must change your idea that it was ever supposed to be easy

one thing i think about a lot: it’s a lot easier to criticize a flawed thing than it is to put your own weight / belief / reputation behind your own (inevitably flawed) thing

One of the biggest reasons it gets harder to do new things as you get older is that new things are generally undignified at first (indeed, this is an excellent heuristic for discovering them) and the older you get, the more dignified you're expected to be.

There are so many people who don’t know what they want. And I think that, in this world, that’s the only thing you have to know — exactly what you want. ... Doing what you were born to do ... That’s the way to be happy.
