Coaching = High standards + high edification

Speak Identity Into Your Kids
You are made in the image of God
You are loved
You are chosen
You are brave
You are strong
You are beautiful
God has a plan for your life
Four questions to ask daughters from Scott Donnell:
1) How do you feel?
2) Is there anything I can do to help you right now?
3) Can I tell you something I really appreciate about you?
4) Can I pray for you? (a < 30 second prayer of blessing over them)
the conclusion you reach might be somewhat radical: That is, once you have enough money to take care of your family’s basic needs, then by going to work to earn more money, you might actually be depleting your kids’ inheritance because you are spending less time with them! And the richer you already are, the more likely this is to be true.
Do what’s best for your child. Don’t be too concerned about what other kids or other parents might say.
If our families are to be all that they are meant to be—schools of wisdom and courage—they will have to become more like the church, households where we are actively formed into something more than our culture would ask us to be.
