A hidden gem in Florence. One of the most beautiful and authentic places I've ever seen – pouring with personality and soul.
In 2020 Olympia found Massimo Listri's home in some underground blog.
We thought we were showing up at a museum, a known place, but it ended up being the guy's home.
We rang the doorbell, and a frantic head poked out.
"Who are you?"
"We want to see the house"
"Come back tomorrow"
And so we did. Again, we rang the doorbell, but this time his housekeeper poked her head out.
"Who are you?"
"Massimo said to come today"
"He is not home"
"Where are you from?"
"Romania"
I recited a short poem my grandfather had taught me.
"Un pitic a shad e mic..."
"Come in"
A beautiful detail: there were invitation cards for a memorial service he had hosted for his cat, Palino, who had passed away. RIP Palino <3
