how do I continue to love all these things without becoming burnt out? The answer, I’ve found, is to shift gears. I reignite my passions by focusing on something new within the realm.

I have become a specialist on the future self I know I want to arrive at and the work she will be doing.

Growing up is, at heart, the process of learning to take responsibility for whatever happens in your life. To choose growth is to embrace a love that heals.

For most folks it is just too threatening to embrace a definition of love that would no longer enable us to see love as present in our families. Too many of us need to cling to a notion of love that either makes abuse acceptable or at least makes it seem that whatever happened was not that bad.

Grounding yourself in the creations and reiterations of this world brings hope to the fact that everything regenerates.

Self-love is the foundation of our loving practice. Without it our other efforts to love fail. Giving ourselves love we provide our inner being with the opportunity to have the unconditional love we may have always longed to receive from someone else.

When we understand love as the will to nurture our own and another’s spiritual growth, it becomes clear that we cannot claim to love if we are hurtful and abusive.

I’m there to see it, and I do feel something like religious ecstasy, but not because I long to understand God, but because I long to better know what it means to be human.
