Foolish Money

You only control the work, not how it’s received. “So ultimately, you have to love doing it. You have to get to a place where doing the work is the win and everything else is extra.” You have to find joy in what you do for the sake of it

Retirement is our clever way of extending the Nothingness of Money out while we are healthy enough to appreciate it. We work hard in our youth so that we don’t have to when we’re older. We no longer have to be on a deathbed to fade money out of our thoughts, as we can do that with decades left to spare.

Many older individuals feel a greater sense of freedom with age, inviting them to chase their truest selves, and leave the unimportant angst behind. In a culture where angst seems to prevail, and young people face uncertain futures, aging with joy is a radical act of humanity. And the conversation is changing to reflect this.

The willingness to figure things out as you go is often the only difference between those who achieve difficult things and those who never begin.

As Picasso observed, "To know what you are going to draw, you have to begin drawing."

A focused hour outweighs an unfocused day.
