Paul – This is great! I really like the structure of problem > tactic > principles — and to facilitate a workshop for the students to identify, and think through how to tackle them, and not ignore them — is perfect!
To pose the prompt “I want to…” to the students would elicit an array of thing for them to address, when I worked at the BBC they used to do a great ‘Hopes & Fears’ exercise before every project, to individually map them out, and then to think through how to mitigate or tackle any fears or challenges. It makes me think that this aligns to your workshop… What do you want? How do you get there? What are the obstacles? What are the ways to overcome them?

... See moreAsking a question doesn’t just make information appear. It pushes you to seek out any information that might help you get closer (asymptotically, never really getting there, because that’s when the fun ends) to an answer.
This is why it is so important to figure out the big question you’re trying to answer. Putting yourself in situations that feed your mind what it’s hungry for lets you outwork everyone else without even realizing you’re working. You’re just trying to answer your question!
