Making the “:” bold is a style choice. Don’t break your head.
For most American writing, stick with no spaces. If you're writing for a British audience or following a specific style guide that allows for spaces, feel free to include them.

While this is informative it still baffles me that I can’t make my mind about this. I’ll just stick with spaces, though no spaces means the em dash is literally connecting two phrases of a sentence… which is more a role of the en dash… This bothers me more than it should.
