They want me to get a range of intermediate shots, close-ups and reverse angles, all for safety’s sake. But I have always filmed only what I need for the screen, and nothing else. When you do open heart surgery, you don’t go for the appendix or toenails, you go straight for the beating heart.
To have a story, characters have to be placed into situations where they have to make choices, and those choices have to have consequences for both the character and the story. In other words: things have to happen.
There are a lot of things I want to do. I want to create and build and make and write.
And then, of course, there are other things that I just have to do, like bookkeeping and responding to emails.
