Burnout comes from trying to meet some invisible, external expectation. Pressure is introduced when art turns from creation into performance, because the act of performing implies observation and therefore critique.
Set the fire and burn. Let them look on in awe and terror. Let them feel the sweat begin to bead up on their skin. Let new fires catch.
Following the soul’s desire. Poetry is more than just words on a page. It’s the dusky blue of a sky kissing the sun goodnight. It’s the nod of a friend that gives you courage to step on a stage. It’s hugs in an airport. It’s the sound of the sea. And perhaps, most of all, it’s the quiet voice in your chest that whipsers what you want most. And following it - that’s the most poetic thing of all.
