This is such a helpful idea for me. I often get to buried in the weeds when considering something, e.g. a few years ago, I wanted to learn how to code. Instead of taking a reasonable, thoughtful approach and engaging at the right level of abstraction to gain surface level knowledge first, then digging deeper, I kept wanting to learn the underlying layers. It was to much to quickly and frustrated me to the point of stopping.
Instead of focusing on loops, conditions, classes, functions, etc. I was obsessed with knowing the reason why those attributes worked. I ended up not learning either well.
