Available for purchase 💫 ⠀ In my artwork every emotion is hidden in the silent stare of Judith’s face, giving everyone a chance to contemplate the story from their own perspective. Religious texts and art praise this woman for her courage, intelligence, and divine justice, but should we not consider the inner struggles and emotions she contained, and the drama that existed within her? ⠀ My primary source of inspiration as an artist is how women are represented in mythology, religious texts and historical narratives. I’m particularly drawn to how women have beensymbolised, idealised or marginalised across different cultural contexts, often portrayed as figures of purity, temptation, power or sacrifice. I want my art to translate these symbolic representations into abstract, fluid forms that capture the tension between women’s strength and vulnerability. ⠀ The artistic media that best represents my style and practice are sculptural forms created with fabrics soaked in gypsum and interwoven with distinctive bas-reliefs.
