✨Myrtle Spurge in the Understory✨ Thinking about the edges of things, about edges as places. Every boundary is a place. Every place has an above and a below, a shadow and a sunray. I wonder about the things we think are beautiful in these places, I also wonder about the things we do not think are beautiful in these places. Beauty in the edges. Violence in the edges. A slow parade of both. Myrtle spurge is an incredibly invasive plant where I live, in this valley. It is also toxic. It can make a person go blind. It is also beautiful, strange alien flowers in a yellowgreen kaleidoscope. To eradicate them, they must be treated down to the roots. I am talking about more than one thing. I am talking about many things. May we walk among our anger and recognize that it is sacred. May we not look away from the things that break our heart. As above, so below. As within, so without.
