Finding your distribution advantage

Distribution innovation is about taking advantage of market arbitrages—places where you can profitability acquire customers—and building network effects as quickly as possible.

I spent this week looking at hundreds of companies and found that there are seven common ways to differentiate:1. Be the cheapest2. Be the highest quality3. Be the most convenient4. Be the safest5. Sell a proprietary product6. Sell something that makes people feel great buying 7. Focus on a niche underserved market

Identify a unique strength that your company/product has that aligns well with the current opportunities in your environment. Then leverage that strength in a way that others cannot easily replicate. Focus on what sets you apart and use it to create a sustainable competitive advantage.
