So I made a commitment at that time that I still hold to this day, which is this: relax and find the fun. I remind myself before each call that if I’m coming from a place of service, then I’m willing to be fired in any given session. Sure, getting fired may suck, but playing it safe is a far bigger threat to my business in the long term.

So if we want to move beyond reactivity into creativity, then we need to learn how to clarify what we truly want beyond comfort, stability, and acceptance.

If we truly care about our safety and success, then it’s far more sustainable to choose a path that builds our fire as we go instead of depriving ourselves, hoping for an escape that may never come.

Bottom line: instead of waiting until he’s created “enough” success or status, we can align his actions with what truly has him feel stronger today. No more waiting.
