Financial institutions were built to on-board people as customers (retail) or business owners as customers (SMB); however, today there is a new class of users needing access to the underlying financial infrastructure these banks use - developers.
Risk is a multidimensional vector. Decentralization mitigates some risks, but not others. I guarantee you that developers today are more comfortable building on what’s left of Twitter’s APIs than they are building on top of public blockchains. Twitter has 38M accounts regularly using their APIs, while total Dapp users are still well below 1M.
As you go down the rabbit hole of user experiences and new features for power users (which are often the users that pay the bills, hence their gravitational pull), do so with a bias towards always improving your First Mile.
We claimed that upvotes were a good measure of quality but this is not necessarily true. In reality, an upvote on any platform is a combination of quality and other things such as the popularity of the author, quality of the discussion produced by the article, and many more.
