I think only that we are sometimes lucky enough to see the difficulties arise and have a little choice of where they fall, which is itself a little reprieve. this year i feel calmed by the changing of the season. maybe it’s because my friends and i have already filled our fall weekends with dinner parties and apartment parties and weekends upstate and restaurant reservations and movies we want to see and halloween costume ideas, all which make the blow of losing the endless sweltering days spent reading
