Indeed, unjustified extremism frequently results from a “crippled epistemology,” in which extremists react to a small subset of relevant information, coming mostly from one another.

I like the term “rescuing homes.” It’s an acknowledgment of what is already there instead of demolishing and replacing. The character of streets and towns is important to me. (Which is exactly what the neighbor says later in the episode, people tear down a house, stock two new houses there, and you lose character.)
