Community and independence both have conveniences and inconveniences; we have to decide which is more valuable to us.
Lincoln makes no mention of Pilgrims or Indians. Thanksgiving is not to celebrate the Nation’s utopian meeting of two peoples, but to praise the mighty Christian God. Man’s supplications are to be directed to God for peace and harmony.
Lincoln—the President that made Thanksgiving a holiday—never mentions native Americans in his address. He mentions that we must thank God that he “gave“ the settlers that land that America was built on. That means that any attribution of the holiday to a peaceful meeting between natives and settlers is a post-rationalization.
Success creates a choice: protect what you've built, or build what comes next. Part of creative growth is accepting that some people who loved your early work will hate what you become, and that's exactly as it should be. Disappoint people.
What is your relationship with self-discipline?
What is your relationship with self-forgiveness?
Stick to your goals, but don’t flagellate yourself if you don’t complete them.
that'sthe main message that I'm delivering isthat most of these hurdles areself-imposed as designers like theyliterally don't exist there is nofailure failures like as real as likeHalloween ghosts
Creative people face a lot of self-imposed hurdles around expertise and worthiness. Understanding that creativity is a process can help you come to terms and take a more confident position.
