Work backwards from the emotion you're trying to create in the reader. Then let the structure follow.

Second person feels different for a reason. Beyond using or implying the word you, it forces the reader to become an active participant in the story. Being a participant to what is happening can affect the reader in ways that first and third person simply cannot.

Understanding how a person interacts with a setting is powerful. It takes you from people-watching and puts you squarely in your subjects’ heads. Not only does it help you capture their personalities better, but it also makes you more imaginative and empathetic, which makes for better fiction.
