Saying, “Charles was discouraged,” reveals your interpretation of what was going on. But saying, “Every morning Charles crawled out of bed and put his feet on the threadbare carpet, wondering if this would be the day that his life might change,” allows readers to draw their own conclusions.
I believe that the key to success lies in knowing how to both strive for a lot and fail well. By failing well, I mean being able to experience painful failures that provide big learnings without failing badly enough to get knocked out of the game.
