The knowledge of the garment worker regarding safe working conditions or the farmer regarding the pesticide’s impact on their family’s health is often systemically excluded from the final product’s narrative. Sustainable living demands that we demand the inclusion of these marginalized knowledges. This is not simply about being ethical; it is about recognizing that incomplete knowledge leads to fundamentally flawed, unsustainable systems.
I believe I am being confronted with this impossible task: making a perfect idea into a perfect creation . What I fail to recognise is that the idea only seems perfect precisely because it has no counterpart in reality .
