Until recently, there was very little understanding or acknowledgment of the physical and psychological effects of systemic racism, intergenerational trauma, and gender discrimination.

In this instance, investors would probably like to see founders who are “native enough” to understand crypto and Web3 with a lot of depth and nuances, who have the right network to attract crypto engineers, but who also so native that they can’t understand the experience of the average mainstream, non-crypto user they might be talking to.

We may balk at having “personal market caps,” but many of us already do – it is simply denominated in the currency of followers. As social media platforms have increased in importance, the blue-chip entities of this exchange – influencers – have found ways to transmute social capital into financial capital.  

But the “rockstars” of any profession usually have another secret: they’ve found themselves in a situation in which they’re able to still do one job. I don’t mean that they’re not doing several things at once. I mean they’re not trying to do the work that three or four people.
