the DigComp European Reference Framework has guided digital literacy in Slovenia, which separates digital skills into five levels: 1. information and data literacy; 2. communication and collaboration; 3. digital content creation; 4. security; and 5. problem solving.

Young people acquire most of their digital skills from their peers, while schools often lack sufficient digital content.
