Date People That Like You

“Date people that like you” is more of a reminder to myself now to leave. It’s clear when someone feels like I’m a nuisance rather than a compliment to their story and vice versa. When it’s obvious someone is looking for completely different traits than you have, and your personality is legit not something they can tolerate, it’s okay to walk away.
Believe yourself, believe them, and don’t hold on to meet any societal “ride or die” hogwash. How about I live, for me, until I meet someone who simply adores me and wants to live with me too? What if you could have a long, beautiful life instead of a tumultuous one, cut short by a relationship full of warning signs? Tolerating dislike, even for a moment, as a woman, is a little too close to flirting with the idea of death.

find your soul before your soulmate

“That’s why I think the universe delays some things. Not as punishment. But as protection. Because if the person you’re meant to love came too soon, you wouldn’t have been ready. You’d have handed them an unfinished map and begged them to lead you home. And they might’ve tried. They might’ve loved you as best they could. But it wouldn’t have been you loving you.”
I went to a networking event with former colleagues and current friends a month after leaving my job and two months after ending a long term relationship. I had move into my new, own apartment that week. Just beginning my new chapter after closing massive ones.
Everyone I hugged told me I was glowing and looking a certain kind of radiant. I hid and joked it was a new concealer, but to be honest, I felt it too. I felt lighter and returning to a version of myself I forgot existed.
This was also a reminder to myself to tell a woman when she’s shining. Hearing it means so much when you’re feeling it.
