The Theory and Technique of Electronic Music
msp.ucsd.eduGideon Gaye by The High Llamas
songwhip.comI’ve really been enjoying Faith, Hope and Carnage. It’s a conversation between Nick Cave and Sean O’Hagan in book form. It’s lovely. It dawned on me today that way back in the early 90s when I was a College Marketing Rep for Sony Music we worked Gideon Gaye by his band, The High Llamas. Been enjoying it today. It still holds up quite well.
I’m now of the mind that all artists should be making these Best Ofs, even if just as an edited playlist, ideally made by the artist or group themselves. As much as I know that I can go to the DSPs for this purpose, I like the idea of the artist choosing the songs and the flow of these cuts to help guide me through their catalog.
