"A Bay Area college has a new program for training in the (Climate) industry. California State University - East Bay in Hayward is teaming up with education and training company (Insert an org like Work on Climate or Climatebase) to offer these courses online."
Yes. We need more humor in this space. What lessons can we learn from The Daily Show and Late Night and apply towards the hards conversations we are having and need to have when it comes down to our climate breakdown?
What’s the opposite of “fake news”? What can people do/create that squashes “fake news” at its core so that it doesn’t even become part of the conversation?
Let’s level up these trade schools to put climate action in the curriculum. I went to a vocational school when I was in high school. I loved it. Inverting in vocational classes and job will be key in transitioning away from extractive industries towards regenerative ones.
The Blackfoot understood human needs not as rungs to ascend one by one, but as the interconnected poles of a tipi stretching upward together. What others might call self-actualization formed the sturdy base that held up the entire structure of human flourishing.
We extract from nature, compete with one another, and pursue short-term gains. In contrast, Seva operates within a regenerative paradigm. It calls us to design systems that are collaborative, life-affirming, and grounded in care.
