Doing Things Slowly

“Have you heard of the phrase, ‘Jack of all trades, master of none?’
The best athletes don’t train for ten different sports. The best yogis don’t also excel at MMA. The pros go all in with a singular objective…and that’s when the magic happens.
But this isn’t just for the professionals, we can apply the idea of doing less things but doing them really well to how we get things done, day to day.
Because none of us can do everything on our todo lists every day, week or month.
Because trotting along busily in our comfort zone is not satisfying or productive.
Because we can all find time to do the things that move us, our team and the idea onward and upwards. And that stuff is really, really satisfying and productive.
Because it’s better to do less things really well than lots of things half-arsed.”

But healing requires patience, time and effort
after dinner
to walk down to
the beach
and find
the biggest
thing on earth
relatively calm...
The best reminder to slow down

Doing Things Slowly
Slowing down also lets you be more mindful, deliberate, and fully present. When we slow down, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to reacquaint ourselves to our natural rhythms. We let go of the “fast forward” stress, and allow our bodies to remain centered and grounded
