We’re moving into the era of creators as marketing channels.
It feels like Facebook ads in 2012: the distribution is mis-priced and the attention has already shifted, but companies are too stuck in their ways to adapt.
“But you can’t make any money doing that.”
That sentence soon won’t make any sense. You can monetize most anything now, and it will only be more so in the near future.
People often say that IG feels aspirational, polished, and often leads to feelings of inadequacy, while TikTok is authentic, fun, and uplifting.
Why? Creator monetization is a huge, underrated factor (in addition to content format & interest vs. social graph).

interesting thoughts from a creator - on why to paywall: "it is damaging to speak to people who are committed to misunderstanding you, or people you already know are incapable of receiving you. It is wasteful to give good things to people who will not appreciate them."
