creative fuel
You cannot create results. You can only create conditions in which something might happen.
fallow periods. what are we actually trying to create? often we go into creative practice with an output in mind,; what if we paid more attention to the conditions? and those conditions change depending on the season our creativity is in: in fallow periods maybe it needs to be left alone, in expressive periods maybe it needs to be pruned, in growth periods it needs to be watered etc.
workshop warm up/icebreaker idea: what season are you in? take a moment to think and then share with the person next to you.
idea for workshop: me and Lucy could each map the “cycle” or map of our substacjs since we started them, correlating them with posts published (creative moments) and other life events? e.g. for me would be break up, started dating; for lucy would be acting etc. we could use this to illustrate that creativity happens in the context of LIFE and life
... See morefor July workshop: maybe there’s something in this around how we often miss this vital part of the creative process because we priorise two of the stages, rather than completing the full cycle? Might not work, but it could also be a relatable feeling for people in the room.

the reassertion of your own humanity has the power to assert and empower the humanity of others. giving voice to feeling validates the feelings of others - as long as it’s done with intention and respect.
how else will we nurture each other but in living colour?
there’s a reason it’s called playing music.

not everyone is given the rest space they need to be/realise their creative. everyone holds the potential for creativity, we’re just too busy.
