š” āHave you noticed,ā she asked me after years and years of working together, āthat everytime you share your best ideas you begin with: this might sound weird, butā¦ā?
š Um, I DID NOT notice that. Even in a relationship I feel safe in, I was STILL feeling vulnerable about my nascent, creative ideas and hedging accordingly.
š Grateful that she challenged me, asking: āhow about instead of this might sound āweirdā we replace āweirdā with magnificently unique?
ā¤ļø Hereās a reminder that we are ALL full of magnificently unique ideas⦠and guilty of hedging them!
Iām sharing this excerpt of ā16 Things I Forbid You To Say At Workā from my book as a reminder for us all: what would you add?
