Are you creating to build what looks like success to others or are you creating to build value?
You need to define a dream, a future, a life, with your significant other that’s WORTH building towards, that’s worth making sacrifices for, that makes it easy to have self control for. For my parents, it was escaping a life of poverty and debt and enabling a future for their kids that was never possible for them.
A capitalist society benefits from you feeling insecure, from you being lonely. The more lonely and insecure you feel, the more you believe the idea that you need those new skincare products, that big house, that flashy car. Maybe, if you look like that movie star, people will flock to you and provide that feeling of being wanted that we all crave.

The idea of a media consumption diet - it should be structured just like a nutritional diet - part people around you, what you watch, where you go, how much time you spend on each, how much time you spend consuming vs not - would you eat 8 hours a day? Associate a value to each - ie meats for protein caffeine for awakened sugar for this and carbs
