Walled gardens
From xkcd’s ”Instagram” webcomic. Reminds me of how, when you’re not paying for the service, it is subject to disappear or close without previous notice — it also reminds me of “walled gardens”, term used in the context of technology to describe a platform that is not easily extensible or open.
-In determining product features, think as if you are decorating a small house. Don’t make your users feel claustrophobic as if they’re in a small, crowded space with a lot of furniture.
