Jesus is the Poor Wise Man in Ecclesiastes 9!

Once you see it, you can’t un-see it.

• A small, insignificant “city” (Israel under Rome).

• A threatening, overwhelming king (the powers of darkness + Rome).

• A poor, unnoticed man whose wisdom saved the city.

• And the world didn’t honor Him.

Wisdom comes quietly, not with fanfare.
Wisdom comes poor, not powerful.

When God Seems Quiet… He Might Be Forming Space

In Genesis 1, God isn’t “doing nothing” before the stars appear.
He’s forming.
Stretching.
Hammering out space big enough to hold what He’s about to place.

From the outside, it doesn’t look impressive.
It doesn’t sparkle.
It’s noisy behind the curtain, silent in the living room.

And that’s exactly how it

Recognize who you are and who he is. Remove your sandals.

“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” – [[Exodus]] 3:5

The commander of the Lord ’s army replied, “Take off

Drink the ooze then understand

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. — Psalm 34:8

There’s an intentional order in that line.

First you taste — then you see.

Which is counter to how we often live. We want to see first, to understand, to weigh the facts, to be sure.

But the Psalmist flips it:

> “Come, try.

The Spirit is like the breath held, waiting on the spoken Word.

The Spirit doesn’t freelance—He hovers in readiness, moves at the command of God, and glorifies Christ (John 16:14).

The Aroma of a Life Well-Built

Idea: Solomon’s house wasn’t just strong, it smelled like a forest. The aroma of cedar filled the air, reminding everyone of the forest where it came from. God is a designer of more than structures — He’s a designer of soundscapes, aromas, colors, and delights that touch every sense.

Connection: Our lives carry an aroma

God isn’t simply telling you to “be stronger” for yourself.
He’s saying:

“I am entrusting people, places, influence, and inheritance to you — so stand firm, son.”
