Sasha Elage: I’m a photographer, because I use a camera, but I really think I’ve always been a visual artist.

I go out of my way to places where there’s nothing, like a parking lot or a basement. I challenge myself by seeing how much time it takes to be fascinated by something, by some detail, by some light, by some shadow. It’s a game.
