Anxiety Coffee Procrastination Break
Declutter Your Emotions
Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived
Luke Burgis • Why I Write
So what kinds of distractions do work well during a 5-10 minute work break? Intuitively, I think we have a pretty good sense of some things that work well:
meditating
getting a glass of water
eating a small snack mindfully
going for a walk outside or around your office
stretching
Some that might be less obvious:
dancing
doing a mini-workout
free association
Mike Jarema • What Kinds of Distractions Are Good for Your Productivity?
You don't have ideas because you don't read.
You can't articulate ideas because you don't write.
You can't leverage ideas because you don't build.
You feel bored, anxious, or overwhelmed because your mind wants ideas to flow but you won't let them.
DAN KOEsubstack.com(2) Self-identity is impermanent, so embrace the changes as they come. Nothing is immune to Death’s eraser, so there is no point in desperately holding onto some illusory version of yourself. Loosening the grip you have on your identity can lessen the fear and anxiety that typically accompany the winds of change.

Experience. Don’t observe.
Inhale. Don’t read.
Transfigure. Don’t shift.
Advocate. Don’t ponder.
Prove. Don’t promise.
Encourage. Don’t cut.
Imagine. Don’t worry.
Do. Don’t analyze.
Hear. Don’t listen.
Show. Don’t tell.
Give. Don’t take.

"I frequently worry that being productive is the surest way to lull ourselves into a trance of passivity and busyness the greatest distraction from living, as we coast through our lives day after day, showing up for our obligations but being absent from our selves, mistaking the doing for the being." — Maria Popova
