We know that we need to dig into the resilience barrel when one or more of our sources of confidence are affected: self, others, or environment.
Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress.
When a child fails or has a setback, don’t pretend it didn’t happen. It is far better to acknowledge the struggle and identify specific strengths the child might use next time. Explain that problem solvers learn from mistakes and move on.
