X. It’s what’s happening

Nothing can stop the passage of time, but when we take refuge with God, in God, then time takes shape; we are able to count our days and make our days count. Finding meaning in time and finding one’s secure place are intimately related in this psalm.

“All those things have vanished like a shadow” (Wis 5:9), and so will you, too, along with them. Do not cling to them, or you may be ensnared and perish.

know the days ahead of me are fewer than those I have left behind. There is no escaping this most basic fact of accounting. A certain amount of time is allotted to each of us.
