If you can’t clearly communicate what it is you want to say in a twelve-word headline, chances are, you won’t clearly communicate what it is you want to say in an 800-word post (or a 60,000-word book). The first question I encourage you to ask yourself is, “Who is this piece of writing for?”

While you haven’t yet tried most of the tools, you can apply the pith method to come up with a pretty good line on your own. Boil down, and boil down some more, until you have two or three key words. Then use those words in a sentence.
