What is Culture? Part Seven: Summary and Bibliography
Because your culture is how your company makes decisions when you’re not there. It’s the set of assumptions your employees use to resolve the problems they face every day. It’s how they behave when no one is looking. If you don’t methodically set your culture, then two-thirds of it will end up being accidental, and the rest will be a mistake.
Peter Drucker famously remarked that ‘culture eats strategy for breakfast’. So what exactly is the culture of a company, a community or a society? Culture is the expression of a group's level of consciousness; their collective clarity of understanding. And the thoughts, words, actions and artefacts that make sense from that level of understanding.
