Verner Panton (1926, Denmark - 1998, Denmark) is considered one of the most influential 20th-century furniture and interior designers 🇩🇰 During his career, he created innovative and futuristic designs in a variety of materials, specially plastics, in vibrant and exotic colors. His style was very “1960s” but regained popularity at the end of the 20th century; as of 2004, Panton’s most well-known furniture models are still in production, as for example the iconic S-curve (or Stacking) chair, what became his most famous and mass-produced design resulting organic shapes inspired by the human body requirements, the tongue (5th slide). 1-7: “Visiona”, commissioned by Bayer. Each year the company rented a boat during the Cologne furniture fair, and turned it into a temporary showroom. 8. Spiegel Publishing House pool, Germany, 1969 9. Restaurant Varna, Denmark, 1971 10.
